The track started with slow keys before transitioning into driving guitars and livelier rhythm as if all that pent-up frustration has nowhere to go but into the layers of the production. On the surface, it might be deceiving, since the energy sounds upbeat enough to make you nod along. Then there’s “Pain! Sorrow! Suffering! Self Hate!” which spells out “PSSSH!” It’s the kind of goofy little detail that shouldn’t work as well as it does, but somehow makes the whole thing more fun.
