Transgalactica’s Track, “The Great Escape: Famine,” Is the Alternative That We Need

Artists nowadays write lyrics that tend to trend quickly. Examples of that are topics of love, relationships, and being broken. Transgalactica decided to move away from that same sway and become the voice of reason that we need to hear today.

The Great Escape: Famine‘ started with this classical/minor egyptian scale keyboard alongside this bassy galactic sustain keyboard tone that perfectly set the mood on what the song’s main theme is.

All throughout the track, I find the melodic vocal phrasing very interesting. It doesn’t feel like the usual “singing” style. It depicts this “telling a story” kind of style that we are lacking in today’s music. The vocal phrasing changes createad a huge impact on the overall feel of the track too.

The use of distorted guitars alongside the sustained bassy keyboard progression goes hand in hand with each other. It created this musical/medieval feel that Transgalactica is aiming for.

Lyrically, the song’s main theme is somewhat a cynical, dense commentary on the evolution of human beings. Phrases like / Agriculture is a noble art / Feeding billions by a few / Horn of plenty is upon the earth / We feel no famine’s yoke / are just clear examples of Transgalactica’s depth in creating metaphors and lyrics that will leave you thinking for hours on end.

Transgalactica’s ‘The Great Escape: Famine’ is an art that needs preserving. In today’s world, where artists are talking about relationships and love, we need an alternative perspective, and Transgalactica perfectly suits that role.
