Stray Kids member Lee Know is using his success to help people facing one of Nepal’s worst natural disasters.
The K-pop star donated 100 million Korean won, roughly $72,000 or around ₱4 million, to World Vision for emergency relief efforts following the devastating floods in Nepal. The donation was made on August 28 and was confirmed by JYP Entertainment.
Lee Know specifically requested that the money support children and families affected by the disaster.
The funds will help provide food and nutritional assistance, temporary shelter, clean water, sanitation supplies, and livelihood support for people who have lost their homes or sources of income.
“I hope my gesture can offer even a small bit of strength to those going through a difficult time,” Lee Know said through his agency.
He also expressed his hope that both the flood victims and the people working on the ground could return to their normal lives soon.
This isn’t Lee Know’s first major charitable contribution.
The Stray Kids member has worked with World Vision since 2014 and previously donated 100 million won toward the global food crisis in 2024. He has also made significant donations supporting healthcare and animal welfare.
The donation comes as the situation in Nepal remains extremely serious. The catastrophic flooding has killed hundreds of people and left thousands missing, while rescue teams continue searching for survivors and people trapped in damaged infrastructure.
For Lee Know, this is another example of how an artist’s influence can extend far beyond music.
Sometimes the biggest impact an artist can make happens away from the stage.
